After the success of Tanya’s Summer Vacation Scheme 2021 at Appleman Legal, Tanya has joined us as a paralegal. Tanya has worked in both Mental Health and Family Law departments and is currently residing in the Family Law department.

Tanya has recently finished her Graduate Diploma in Law at the University of Law 2021.

As a paralegal, Tanya is given the responsibility to engage with clients and obtain their instructions. Tanya has successfully prepared injunctions, non-molestation orders, occupation orders and Child Arrangement Orders. Tanya enjoys the challenges that Family Law brings due to her interest in Human Rights Law and protecting vulnerable individuals.

Tanya is committed to delivering the best service to clients through a combined approach of empathy and pragmatism. She discovered her passion for Human Rights law through pro bono at the University of Law as a Legal Researcher for Amnesty International and Irwin Mitchell Family Law Telephone Advice Clinic. She studied Human Rights Law at a summer programme at the prestigious Sciences Po, Paris University.

Prior to entering the legal profession, Tanya studied Political and Social Science at the University of Leeds and obtained a First Class (With Honours). She started an award-winning magazine called “Onbeat” at university aimed at giving a platform for women of colour. Tanya has also appeared on national TV and radio, discussing social justice issues.
