Abdul is an experienced Solicitor & Advocate within our Mental Health Law Department.

Abdul is committed to advising, assisting and representing clients nationwide in all aspects of Mental Health law. Abdul has been a member of the Law Society Mental Health Accreditation Scheme since 2017 and is an experienced Tribunal advocate.

He has extensive experience in providing legal advice, assistance and representation to clients detained under the Mental Health Act 1983 (as amended by the 2007 Act). This includes preparing cases and representing clients at Hospital Managers’ Hearings and First-tier Tribunal hearings. Abdul also attends Care Programme Approach and Section 117 meetings to have a better understanding of his clients’ cases, and to convey any concerns his clients may have in relation to aftercare and treatment matters.

Career

Prior to joining Appleman Legal Solicitors, Abdul completed his training contract in a Legal 500 firm. During his training contract, Abdul worked within the Mental Health, Housing and Community Care Departments.

Experience

Abdul has previous experience of Civil Litigation, dealing mainly with Landlord and Tenant disputes.
Prior to entering the legal profession, Abdul worked in Housing Management and Rent Recovery within the City of Westminster.

In his spare time, Abdul likes to socialise with friends and family, reading and travelling.
