Anita is a Solicitor within our Mental Health Law Department who is experienced in advising, assisting, and representing clients detained under and/or subject to the Mental Health Act 1983 (as amended).

Anita has been a member of the Law Society Mental Health Accreditation Scheme since October 2020. Since then, she has conducted advocacy at Mental Health Tribunal proceedings in respect of both adult and adolescent patients detained under both civil and forensic sections, as well as those living in the community subject to compulsory treatment. 

In addition to advocacy at Mental Health Tribunal and Hospital Managers Hearings, Anita can also provide advice, assistance and representation at Care Programme Approach meetings, Section 117 meetings, Professionals’ meetings, as well as Care, (Education), and Treatment Review meetings.

Anita is passionate about social justice and human rights. She takes pride in providing high quality of advice and representation to clients and takes an empathetic approach in assisting clients. 

As part of her training, Anita has also obtained experience in areas of Divorce, Section 8 Children Act 1989 Order, Care Orders, and Public Law Outline matters. In the past, Anita has volunteered as a caseworker for the National Centre for Domestic Violence, obtaining Non-Molestation Orders & Occupation Orders for victims of domestic abuse.
