Gizem joined Appleman Legal in July 2023 as a Work Experience Paralegal at our head office in London. Gizem has a strong interest in mental health law and share the firm’s commitment to legal aid and social justice. Aspiring to qualify as a solicitor specialising in Human Rights law, Gizem sees her time at the firm as an opportunity to build on her skills while advocating for clients' rights.

Gizem is dedicated to qualifying as a solicitor, and since joining the firm, she has embraced its values and has become a key member of the team. Gizem is proud to bring her contribution in cases and has already gained valuable experience supporting clients and solicitors.

Career

Before joining Appleman Legal, Gizem completed her Bachelor of Laws degree in 2023 at City, University of London. She is currently enrolled on the Legal Practice Course (LPC) part-time at the University of Law. Her interest in Human Rights law grew during her studies, and her experience at Appleman Legal has deepened her passion for working with vulnerable clients.
As a paralegal, Gizem assists solicitors with various aspects of mental health cases, including applications to the First-tier Tribunal and Hospital Managers' hearings. Gizem is committed to providing a high standard of service and is always eager to learn and develop further in this field.

Interests

In her spare time, Gizem enjoys reading, cooking and baking with her family, as well as helping her dad in the family business. Gizem also enjoys going on walks with her family.
